Happy Birthday Rachel

Rachel had her first birthday party this Friday. She had a ball. She invited 6 kids. I really couldn't have done it without Matt's help. I thought I had planned more than enough games. It turns out I grossly over estimated a group of 5 year olds attention span. Matt really came through, helping with the games and playing outside with them after presents and cake. From what I could tell a good time was had by all.

Next day Rachel went trick or treating. She was so excited that even though it was poring rain we went out. She kept going even when her umbrella blew inside out every 10 seconds. She eventually put the umbrella away and just got rained on. Don't worry it did stop raining eventually. All in all she had a lot of fun.

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Rachel's preschool went on a field trip on Friday to a local pumpkin patch. I volunteered to be one of the parent chaperons. (Not that there was any shortage of parents, there was about 1 parent for every 1.5 children) It was fun. Rachel was so excited to share preschool with me. She had all kinds of fun and loved introducing me to her friends. The only sad part of the day was after the field trip, Rachel was sure that we were going back to preschool and she would be able to show me all the stuff that she does there. She was very disappointed when that wasn't the case.
